Theme mini cart still shows
What CartPops replaces automatically, and what to do when your theme's own cart icon or mini cart still opens.
CartPops does not remove your theme’s cart. It can take over one specific kind of mini cart, and it works with some themes directly. Anything else needs a small change on your side.
What CartPops replaces
CartPops handles the WooCommerce Mini Cart block. This is the cart icon block that block themes and the Site Editor use in headers. When a customer clicks its button, CartPops opens its own drawer instead of the WooCommerce mini cart panel.
To check the setting:
- Go to WooCommerce > CartPops > Advanced.
- On the General tab, find WooCommerce Mini Cart.
- Set Integration mode to Replace.
The two modes are:
- Replace: the CartPops drawer replaces the WooCommerce Mini Cart.
- Standalone: both operate independently.
Replace only works on pages where the CartPops drawer is present. If the drawer is missing from the page, the WooCommerce mini cart opens as usual. See The drawer does not open after add to cart.
What CartPops does not replace
CartPops only takes over the click on the WooCommerce Mini Cart block button. It does not touch other cart icons, including:
- Header carts built into your theme.
- Cart icons and mini cart widgets from page builders.
- Cart widgets placed in a sidebar or widget area.
For these, use one of the options below.
Use the Blocksy integration
If your theme is Blocksy, CartPops can replace the header cart icon for you:
- Go to WooCommerce > CartPops > Advanced.
- Open the Integrations tab.
- Turn on Replace header cart icon.
- Keep Open CartPops drawer on click on to open the CartPops drawer instead of the Blocksy cart panel.
The same tab shows whether CartPops has an integration for your active theme.
Use a CartPops launcher in your header
Add a CartPops launcher where your theme’s cart icon is, and then hide the theme’s own icon:
- Use the shortcode
[cartpops_launcher]anywhere shortcodes work. It renders an inline launcher that opens the drawer.
Hiding the theme’s cart depends on your theme. Look for a header setting that turns the cart off. If there is none, you can hide it with CSS in WooCommerce > CartPops > Advanced > General > Additional CSS. You need the theme’s own class name for the cart element.
Both carts open at once
If both the WooCommerce mini cart and the CartPops drawer open when a customer adds a product, check the Integration mode. In Standalone mode both carts work on their own. Switch to Replace if you want only the CartPops drawer.
In Replace mode, CartPops takes over the click on the mini cart button. It does not change what the Mini Cart block does after an add to cart. If the block’s own panel still slides open when a product is added, look for the block’s add-to-cart behavior setting in the Site Editor, and set it so the mini cart does not open on add.
